- The project builds on the experience of PICS, which has researched on-the-fly programmable imaging and first generation CMOS imager designs for professional applications.
- Adds experience from projects on CMOS imagers like CARE4ME (ITEA2), IVP, Walori, PReVENT and microCMOS (IST), Nirwarn and X-impact.
- Includes many experienced CMOS design partners.
- Uses the experience of Grass Valley to coordinate a CATRENE project with many partners.
